Welcome to my website!
I am a postdoctoral researcher studying the effects of the resident bacteria of the human gut on nutrient uptake and fat metabolism. My research combines the expertise of two labs:
- The Ley laboratory at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY specializing in the study of the gut microbiome and obesity and
- The Worgall laboratory at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City specializing in lipidomics and human nutrition
I received my PhD in Molecular Biology from Princeton University where I used high-throughput sequencing techniques to understand how cells maintain cellular integrity during times of prolonged cell cycle arrest. I love learning new things about human nutrition, shake shack burgers in Madison Square Park, winning FitBit/Nike Plus group challenges, running miles around the central park reservoir, and upstate NY (Ithaca) in the fall.
